Bedding
This is often the focal point of your room often doubling as a day bed. Choose a color or pattern that fits yours personality. Since it will be used for various things and your guest will see it choose a color or pattern that easily hides stains. Plus keep that bottle of Shout handy!
Walls
This is the fun part that should really represents your personality and taste. There’s the obvious choice of posters. Yet also consider having decorative fabric or wall paper framed. It’s cheap and will stand out!
Another option is to have a small designer or drawing enlarged at your neighborhood print shop.
Storage
Try to buy mixed used storage. An example of this would be a chest that doubles as seating. Under the bed storage is very important. Buy several long containers that can be pulled out.
