Just because you are living in a dorm doesn’t mean that you have to live in a boring room with plain white walls. There are plenty of things that you can do to decorate your dorm room, but you will want to first check with your school rules to see what is allowed. You should also check with your roommate about what they plan on doing, although this is optional because you can still decorate your side of the dorm regardless of what they do with their side of the dorm.
Colorful
Being colorful is the best way to dress up a boring dorm room. You want to go with the bold colors or even interesting patterns because that will create contrast against the white walls. The contrast will help especially if you cannot paint the walls or even hang posters.
Bedding
You want to choose bedding that is going to stand out, but you also want to choose something that is going to hide the dirt. The comforter is the main piece of bedding to think about because it will be seen the most. Your bed will also get used a lot because of studying and eating in the dorm, it is sort of like the coffee table in the living room, which is why you want to choose something that is durable.
Storage
Your dorm room is going to be limited when it comes to storage, so you want to do everything that you can to make room for more stuff. One way to increase the storage space is to place your bed on cement blocks so you cans tore stuff under the bed. You can also place plastic crates inside the closet for more space. Furniture should always have another purpose, such as a table being used for a TV stand and a computer desk.
